Hi guys,

My ravenheat boiler has always been a bit unreliable and from time to time goes months where you have to thump it roughly where the pressure switch is. Does anyone know if this means the pressure switch would be faulty or might there be another problem? Sometimes once it fires gets to temp and then turns off it then fires again on it's own but this week it's decided to need thumping every time. I'm sure it's not the best way to treat a boiler but not having the financiers to replace it it's all we can do for now :)

Any advice would be very much appreciated. :)

sorry but the pressure switch is a safety device and as such we can not advise you on here due to Forum rules only advice I can give is stop thumping it and call An RGI

A new APS is about £30 parts, that is assuming it is not the PCB, unfortunately not a DIY job, take the advice above
