Baxi bermuda pw5 wont fire up properly!

Hi, I have a baxi back boiler (I think its a bermuda PW5). When we turn it on, sometimes it does not fire up. However, if you twiddle the knob from high to low under the fire place, it starts to click and then fires up. (The red light goes yellow). Would anyone know what the problem is.

I forgot to add in a on a previous thread, that when the boiler does eventually fire up, you can hear a 'chuffing/ slight popping' noise from the gas meter. Not sure if that has anything to do with it

There is nothing diyable on your boiler(other than turning it on and off)
Get it looked at by a RGI, who will be able to investigate your faults, and make sure your boiler is safely working.
