I have had a Baxi Solo 2 installed for the last 10 years. Its very efficient, but during the last 3 years or so, I've had a problem with the burner not igniting. I'm no DIYer, so I have had about 10 'experts' in over the period trying to sort the problem.
When the boiler is switched on, I can see the spark through the window, and then after a few seconds the pilot lights, and the fan comes on. I can see the pilot flame moving accross the burner, but it doesn't fire. The problem has been diagnosed as...
Dirt on the pilot, faulty gas valve, pcb, spark electrode, but despite all these components being renewed, the problem still exists. However, a couple of days ago I noticed that there air comig out of the flue seemed excessive, and when I put my hand over it, the boiler ignited immediately, which makes me think that there is either too much air coming in and/or going out. When I checked, I noticed that despite the installation instructions saying a restrictor should be fitted, one isn't.
Does anyone think that this could be the problem.
Thanks in advance for any advice
