Could you guys help me with this problem. I have a 10 year old BAXI boiler on a sealed system.
We went through a phase last winter where the boiler cut out and the overheat light came on a regular basis particularly when the weather was blustery outside. To get around this we had to reset the boiler and start it up every time it cut out. Eventually we contacted an engineer who replaced the fan.
This winter we have been having the same problem but now we are at the stage where we cannot fire up the boiler. The boiler on light comes on but the fan light does not and the pilot does not come on.
Could this be just a second faulty fan or could there be another underlying problem elsewhere? I am guessing here in terms of the location of the boiler which is in the loft and may be too exposed for the fan to cope. Is this likely?
Would your advice be to get another replacement fan and risk this happening on a regular basis or should I be thinking of a new boiler / relocation of the boiler / external protection to the flue? Your suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks for your help.
