Thanks for that but when i look for a repair kit i find that there are more than one so not sure which one to purchase my manual only shows a 248061 3 way valve assembly

That will contain all the parts to overhaul the diverter. Don't worry about the name, its the same valve. There is a separate kit to overhaul the DHW section on the front. Ask you supplier for that kit and do a proper job.
Most parts suppliers will have these kits and just google it.
