Hi all, great forum. Been browsing as a guest for some time as I have a few projects on the go.

I have the above combi boiler and when the hot tap is on the water comes through piping hot and contiumes to come through hot with a continuous flame until turned off, all fine. When the heating is turned on, the flame fires up for 5-15 seconds then goes out. Does this continuously with a gap of about 30 seconds between the flame firing up until I switch the boiler off comlpetely.

The ignition is working fine but we cant get to the bottom of why the flame going out. It delivers (some) hot water to the rads but only after a while presumably heating the water just enough to get to the rad.

HELP!

Don't want to spend, nor can we afford to spend £1200 on a new boiler.

Any responses would be welcome.

If it is what I think it is a simple service by qualified engineer will solve it.
I can't tell u what I think it is as i think it will be gas related and I don't want you playing and causing a danger.

If it all works fine on hot water it is not a major issue and certainly doesn't require a new boiler

Ok, cheers. The re-assurance that we don't need a new boiler is welcome so thanks for taking the time to reply.

I don't mind paying specialists to do qualified and dangerous (in the wrong hands) work as you rightly point out. As all the rest is working or seemingly working so I thought it would perhaps be something simple like a sensor with a dodgy connection or lime scale somewhere clogging something.

We have had the gas and water turned off for about 10 days so I expected a few teething problems on restart but not a new boiler!!

Thanks.
