hi all

just when it was too good to be true the hot water has started to run hot then cold then hot etc her dad has said it may be the heat exchanger have you good people any idea

Yep it is the plate heat ex .
Cost less than 40 quid new or take it out 2 screws and emptying boiler (5mins). Soak it in white vinegar over night or sentinel x800 (ferroquest)for a few hours and it usually cleans it out

someone else has said it could be the diverter valve i have had the ch on and thats working fine could it be that

providing the HW light is staying illuminated during demand then its heat exchanger if its going on and off other stuffneeds checking

everything is working fine on the boiler i have 1 small problem in that once a week i have to top up the water pressure i have gone outside and noticed a small amount of water comming out of the overflow every now and then anyone have any idea

Does the pressure rise over 3 bar (ish) when the pipe drips ? If it does see F.A.Q. about testing and topping up the expansion vessel. If not replace the safety blow off valve (might need replacing anyway as its opened)
