Please can someone help? BG service it but cannot seem to find the problem... My Baxi is 10 years old. In the last year, very randomly, it started making REALLY loud clicking noises and the green lights showing temp, 30 degrees, 60 degrees and so on were lighting up in turn and then down and then the boiler cuts out. Tried resetting it and nothing so left it off overnight (switched the power off) and next day all fine. Then worked perfectly for about 3 months and then same thing happened. Then it is fine. So ramdom. BG came out twice but, of course, the problem did not ocurr whilst they were there and they said they did not know what it was without seeing it. Any ideas anyone? I think it had a faulty thermostat once (before I bought the house), but if this is the problem, why are BG so puzzled?

Without being there when it faults its difficult to do anything apart from gussing.

All I cna say is to press BG to get it fixed but understand that its difficult to fix a working boiler!

I'd check/change the primary flow switch and thermistor
Check the diverter operates correcttly
Check high and low gas
Check exp vessel pressure and PRV is dry
and.................

Same boiler as a Britony Combi. As said, sensor/flow switch regular faults on these but does sound like a pcb problem. But it is very intermittent so you might have to live with it :)

If it does what is described when its in use then it does sound like a faulty sensor or plug/socket.

We also need to be told if its on CH and DHW or just on one of those to decide which sensor is involved.

Since its on a BG contract the bets thing might be to suggest to BG that they change both sensors and clean the plug/sockets with switch cleaner ( if its still available ).

That does not mean that a fault would not cause it to something different.

If its only on CH then it could well be the CH sensor.

Back to BG ?
