Hi. Busy forum here.

I have the following problem and would be grateful for any help.

Im not getting any hot water and the heating is no longer coming on.

All the lights are on on the boiler (apart from the overheat one).

I can hear the pump (by the emersion tank) running smoothly.

There is a Mid-Position valve that seems to be working fine. i.e its switching to 'W' when heating water, 'H' when on the heating and 'M' when doing both.

Its all controlled by a Honey well thermostat (which has three wires (+, - and load) and Honeywell programmer. Which seem to be working, the lights are all coming on.

This next part could be the cause.
A while ago the thermostat broke and I replaced it with 2 wire one, sadly i wired it up wrong as i had not reserched wiring up 3 wires to 2 wires. In doing this i blew a few fuses. I eventually managed to wire it up correct but was never really happy with it (didnt look right) so i got a new one same as the original Honeywell.
It was all running fine with this new thermostat for a 2 weeks, but now im getting the problem mentioned above.

I know the thermostat and programmer cables all end up in a box full of wires.

Thats all i know. Thanks in advance for any help.

If, as you say, all the boiler lights are on, it sounds like a probable boiler problem now and not the external controls.

Can you hear/feel the fan going?

The light that is supposed to prove the fan is running can come on even though the fan is not working.

Something else i remembered.

When i had the 2 wire thermostat, i put the hot water on and the upstairs radiators came on. Weird, not sure how just the upstairs rad's could come on without the downstairs ones coming on.

If the fan is working then I would suggest getting an RGI in as the rest of the diagnosis entails testing safety devices and the gas valve.

Before i make any expenive call outs i might change the controller. I can always take it back if it doesnt fix the fault.

Right. After lots of playing about ive come to yet another conclusion that the burner is not firing up (although the pilot light is on)

Ive tested the Thermostat sensor and the Overheat thermastat, both are working.
Are there any other sensors/fuses that can be tested, or should i give in and call someone out?

Im guessing gas is getitng to the boiler else the pilot light wouldnt come on.

Thanks for the help so far.
