Hi

First must say what an interesting forum lots of useful stuff.

Right on to problem.

Got a Baxi Solo 3 PFL about 2 years old.

Serviced about 6 months ago.

Fan comes on as normal, pump runs but no spark at electrode?

Can here faint clicking coming from PCB, but no spark.

Any ideas anyone?

Check the pressure switch pipes for leakage or blockage.

Is there continuity between C & NC terminals on the pressure switch.

No spark, you should be looking for an engineer by now

Check and clean electrode, check gap and lead, change PCB.

Change boiler, change house, change wife, change sex, change car, change planet, if that dont work call a corgi man, preferably one that knows one end of his tool box from the other.

Changed wife once for newer model.
Changed house for newer model.
Changed car for newer model.
Boiler only two, change not needed yet lol

Pressure switch pipes clear.
Will get meter and check continuity.
How can you check electrode? cant find spec for gap?
Looking like an expensive pcb

Gap is somewhere about 5mm ish provided its not distorted should be ok. check the electrode for discolouring damage etc, and check the leads and terminals very well its a common fault the same as spit pressure tubes

boards can be purchased at a reasonable price but you would need to post a contact email.

check the board for dry joints & signs of shorting as well you may be able to re-solder

forgot to say if theres continuity between C & NC you should replace the fan, if there isnt you should replace the pressure switch.

and is the pilot on light on. :?:

Before you replace the board that is.

Thanks for the info doitall, will check tomorrow.

Had continuity on the spark electrode wire.
Didn`t notice any shorting on the pcb when i had it out.
Any clues as to where dry joints may be?

Mail me on "[email protected]"

Many thanks
