Does anyone know how the booster switch works? Previously I just set the water to come on for so many hours each day in summer but during a recent overhaul I discovered the booster switch had been left on by the plumber and that appears to work better, but is it using more gas?

Your talking about the booster switch on the programmer ,,,,, it does not affect the power of gas at all it just brings the boiler on for an extra hour usually,, some programmers for 3 hours
