Thanks gas121 I've ordered the part and I'll try and sort it when it arrives do I just need to turn the water off at the stopcock and boiler at the mains??

stop cock will do or the cold valve under the boiler and open hot taps to drain no need to empty heating side

As promised, a quick update! I removed the Venturi and it was in bits I spent tens minutes fishing out all the bits! Put the new part in and hey presto it all works fine! Massive thanks to gas112 and ianmcd

Cheers for getting back , its a new fault thats been showing for around the 18 months and catching loads out when it first showed up even the baxi guys i spoke to hadnt heard of it
