Hi all,

Looking for some advice regarding bay windows: Insulation and VCL. (See attached detail).
What’s shown is a warm ventilated (with battens) lead bay roof. I’m pretty sure the detail I have is incorrect as the timber joists do not have insulation between, resulting in a cold spot between the thermal bridging layer underneath and PIR above firings. This also complicates positioning of Vapour check layers.
Would it be best to fully fill the joists instead and have firings over with breather membrane on top and then battens/airspace on top of that?

Many thanks.

Ventilating that is a nonsense. Fill it with insulation to remove the condensation risk.

Either way, you would not have a breather membrane on a lead roof. Lead dont breathe.
