Had an invoice today for 1 meter of BC Pine at 6x6 sawn asking for £52.00, normally i get quite good rates, but i think this is excessive, before i ring em and complain does anyone know whether BC Pine is normally this expensive?

Cheers.

Been a while since I bought any, I'd call it Yellow Pine, but I think it's the same timber. Far as I can remember, it was only normally available in up to 3" or possibly 4" thickness, so your 6" may be "special", and at a guess cutting a piece under a cu.ft. out of what may be a large board will have a "cutting charge"
As I said, it's been a while, but I'd sort of expect now to pay somewhere around £20-£25 a cu.ft. on whole sawn boards from the stack for small quantities. Add on the fact that thicker will be more expensive, plus a cutting charge and you may be somewhere near your £52.
Still sounds on the expensive side to me though.
