It has. We have been increasingly living off borrowed/printed money since 2008, to the point where we are now 3 trillion pounds in debt. The country cannot pay for itself... if it were a business it would have been wound up by now. Usury (debt) has always been seen as an evil, it makes us into slaves whose only purpose is to repay what we owe. It is a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich and from the young to the old.

It didn't used to be like this.
