The paved area around the conservatory tends to flood in the rain so I'm considering installing a horizontal (slight incline) run off pipe to the rain water drain. I'll drill holes in along the pipe length for water inlet.

What's the best way to bed in a drain pipe run underground?

DIYspanner, good evening.

Perforated underground drain pipes are available??

As for bedding, any "fine"gravel, such as Pea gravel for both bedding and surround.

One trick is to lay a geotextile material on all surfaces of the trench, this material keeps mud out of the gravel and hence it keeps the drain running, if possible fit a rodding eye at the top end of the run, assists if all else fails??

Ken.

I've researched geotextile material. Its a waterproof material so if I use to line the drain pipe trench, bottom, sides and top, how can water run into the pipe?
