Hi

I am looking for some help, desperately!

My dishwasher has stopped heating the water.

The cycles run fine, except it's all freezing cold, so not washing properly.

I have taken the front off and can see no dodgy wires etc

I have taken the sides off and on the left side there is something strange looking, (big plastic thing with hoses coming in and out of it) I have no idea what it is, but I am guessing it is something to do with the water seen as the cold water pipe joins onto it, and then another pipe comes out the other end, I can email a pic of the 'thing'. It looks like it is really dirty or corroded inside (like an old battery gets)

If anyone can help me please, please get back to me, as it is killing me to hand wash these dishes!!!

I can't afford to just replace the dishwasher and my insurance is too high excess to claim on that.

I read in other posts on the net that it could be the heater element or the control board causing the problem of no hot water.

But after finding this weird plastic thing, looking all wrong then I guess that is where the problem lies.... what is it and can I replace it?

if someone tells me how to add a pic then I will.

Thanks Rhiannon

I suspect the "weird looking plastic thing" you describe is the water softener unit. They all look brown & grotty...it is normal.
But it has nothing to do with your heating issue...you were on the right track regarding the other stuff.

yeah we kinda figured that out now, it's just grotty

I have found the heater element and tested it with a multimeter it read 29.2 ohms.

so does this mean it would probably be the circuit board?

also tried switching the water feed to the hot water and ran a cycle, waters still freezing even though the water coming out of my tap is scalding :/

Beko isn't really my thing...but at 29ohms the element is good. Which leaves the following: wiring, thermostat/NTC, or the pcb. Most likely the latter.

so do you think it is worth just trying a new one, is there any way of testing the PCB, or the other things you mentioned?

Thanks for your help by the way :)
