Bell 801 (old) extension bell

Hi Folks
I've just moved into a flat, the intercom is working fine. A previous owner had a door bell extension fitted as some stage and has been disconnected at the handset, the bare (white pair) wires shown - see image.

It should be straight forward to reconnect the extension bell wires?
Will the extension bell require batteries fitted?
Help please.

You don't need batteries.....but it would be better to fit the bell system electronic sounder
