Belt keeps coming off Whirlpool washer

Hi all, the belt on my whirlpool AVM washing machine keeps coming off. The belt itself is in good nick. There is a fair bit of front and back movement of the drum when it rinses and spins. Anyone got any ideas.

Tighten the belt. Usually done by moving the motor back on its adjusting bracket.

Sounds like the drum bearings have failed. Not sure about your model but a lot of Whirlpools have a bearing housing bolted to the back of the outer drum. In theory you remove the drum pulley, unscrew the housing and pull it off to get at the bearings. Trouble is, the bearing housing tends to corrode in so you can't always get them out.
