Best adhesive

What is the best adhesive to attach wood strips to a brick wall please? I would like to avoid using nails or screws if possible. It is to attach a thin wood strip to along door frame against a brick wall.

A builders adhesive like Gripfill will do that

As nickjb says, Gripfill, Stixall etc will work.

You may want to use a hot melt glue gun as well. It will help to hold the timber in place until the adhesive sets.
