Hi,

I have just finished building a conservatory & now need to get the interior walls finished & plastered but am not sure as the best way to do it. Would plasterboard & dot and dab be best and then plaster over this or just render straight onto the brick then plaster over the top? It will be going onto thermalite blocks.

I was thinking of having a go myself to keep costs down but am not sure how easy something like this would be, I know there is a certain art to plastering!

Thanks

Thanks. Is there a certain type of plasterboard I should buy, - seems to be a few different options available?

Also the Walls on which it will be going are not smooth, - they are fairly straight but it is a rough finish, will this be a problem or can I just stick the board straight over this with a thick layer of glue?

Thanks

Thanks, - do I need to do anything to the walls to prepare e.g. smoothing off or painting anything on underneath or is it just a case of putting the board adhesive straight on as is and gluing the plasterboard on?

Is it just called 'board adhesive' that i need to buy or is it called something else?

sorry for all questions, bit novice!!

board adhesive' thats it go too wickes m8 cheaper then thge rest
12.5mm board you mix it powder too water.
i gauge it at alf a bucket of water will mix say a fall bucket of gear
the best wall of working it m8 if use a level of the wall if it runs out at the top then youll need more gear at the top.
if it runs out at the bottom then more gear at the bottom
dab it on then one line at the bottom and a line at the top
i use a 6th fether adge to knock them home
and to see it its al nice and flat
let it go for a day then 2coat skim it with muilti finish palaster

if you are new too plastering then pva the walls before you start skimming give you more time too play
5:1 mix

Plstering, - thanks for the detailed info, I think you have given me enough to get me going!

My only question now is the corners, - I take it i just buy jointing tape or plastic strips to go over the corners/angles and them plaster striaght over these?

internal angles use self adhesive mesh skrim tape external angles i still usually skrim the joint then use a 3mm skim corner bead and then spread your plaster good luck
