What's the best thing for this wall?

I have been taking off tiles and knocked all the loose plaster off, as can be seen in the image attached, exposing the red brick wall.

In this situation, what option is best: (the wall is going to be tiled on)

1. Remove all remaining plaster and dot and dab MR plasterboard (it's the wall next to shower) onto the whole wall?

2. Patch up the hole to make level with remaining plaster? If this option, can I just use a thick layer of thistle multifinish for the job?

For my information, before using dot and dab plasterboard on any brick wall, do I need to rinse the wall with water first?

Thanks
