Dabbing board onto stone wall

In my bathroom, I've knocked back the old plaster and want to dab a board onto it to get straight Walls for the shower enclosure.

Can I dot/ dab plaster board onto the stone Walls? They're not damp.

If I can dot/ dab, whats the decent stuff to use and how should it be done?

You can dab on to stone but if it's a shower room/enclosure use aqua panel http://www.knaufdrywall.co.uk/aquapanel/
this can also be dabbed, but will also need a mechanical fixing for extra security.

yes it would because if its water repellant
then surly it could be used on normal plasterboard thus creating water resistant plasterboard? its just a thought, correct me if im wrong anybody because i may be, moisture resistant skim has got to be better than multi in a bathroom surly
