I need to cut 145mm skirting board at a 45 degree angle.

My mitre box and saw is too shallow for board of this height.

I am looking to buy a cheaper mitre hand or power saw suitable for this job. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what could be suitable.

You really want a compound mitre saw, and to get 145mm you're looking at £100. Have a look at screwfix.

Thanks. Seems there is no low cost tool for this. I just spent £150 on a mitre saw and bench for it.

Good, it will always be useful although bench not necessarily necessary.

I have Nobex Champion. Depth of cut is 180mm but ii isn't as accurate as it used to be. I can however carry it on the tube.
