Best underlay for office?

Hi all,

In our current home office we've got crumb rubber underlay as we were told it would be the best underlay due to the office chair being on it. We're now moving the office to a different room but I was wondering if crumb rubber underlay was excessive, and Cloud 9 Cirrus (or similar) would be as effective? Or even a decent waffle underlay?

It'll be on wooden floorboards if this has any bearing on the answer...

Cheers,
Paul.

Crumb rubber by far is the most suitable for an ffice and office chair, if you are getting really heavy use, you may consider a durafit or system 10 system where the carpet is glued to the underlay to further resist localised stretching and rucking of the carpet by the chair.

Deep, soft underlay will give a nice feel but the carpet will not wear as well or keep it's appearance as well.
