We are due to lay an engineered wood floor but we live in a old house with a suspended wooden floors and we're looking for an underlay which has good thermal properties.

We would like to insulate underneath the existing floor but its a massive job, and therefore just not feasible. So need something which will give us the best thermal properties from underlay.

I've been looking at a number of different products but most advertised to have thermal qualities are designed to go with underfloor heating.

Would Floormaster Unifelt underlay be a good choice? or

Depron insulation boards??

Any help??

Timbermate Duratex, that's what we would recommend in this situation

I opted for Timbermate Excel, which has a DPM, but that's because I'm laying on concrete. I spent some time looking into this and believe the Timbermate product was the best option so I'm sure the non DPM product will be a good choice for you :)
