My first attempt at rendering part of a wall (to repair) it went fairly well, but unfortunately I have added too much in a few places.

It is now totally dry and rock hard.

What is the best way to sand it down to get it smooth. I know I should have done it before it set fully but I didn't. I had thought it might look OK when painted but unfortunately now i need to get it flat.

Any ideas. Should I chip it all off and try again. It was my first attempt after all and I hadn't appreciated how tough cement is.

Is there an attachment i could get for a drill that could work?

Thanks. I will try and find one that i can use with a standard drill so I don't need to buy an angle grinder.
