Best way to secure this pipe?

Had a new flush valve fitted this year, the plumber replaced the previous elbow pipe with the flexible pipe pictured.

The solid pipe isn't as secure as it once was, it has a bit of give if the tap is turned on/off. Perhaps I'm being a bit over cautious, but I'd rather secure it. Could one or two pipe clamps be the solution?

Oh dear, sorry but he's not a proper plumber IMO. Any self respecting, trained plumber that had access like that and a stop tap at the bottom, if it works properly, could have easily fitted a nice shiny piece of copper, bent properly to the wall if needed, clipped the pipe where it needed to be and then fitted a proper service valve. Worst case it could have been a piece of plastic but absolutely no need for that finish and the flexi.

To answer the question though, a couple of pipe clips, if the pipe is close enough to the wall, will work fine but a drill and a masonry bit and plugs may be needed if it's a solid wall.

As Madrab said, pathetic. The flush valve is adjustable, so the standout from the cistern can be matched with the original. Have you still got the elbow pipe? Easy enough to change it, especially with the valve right there, which isn't always the case.

I'm guessing it was a float valve and not a flush valve, but either way shouldn't have been left like that. Yes clips either nail in or hinged type.

Yes, that's right, I hadn't spotted, it's a fill valve, as we can see from the pic.
