OK, so almost time to build the stud wall - want to get the base wood down before putting the last floorboard in, rather than building over the floorboards.
Plan is to have a recess shelf. Cannot be any wider than 20cm, but could be thinner. Would it be best to screw down 2 4x2s to the floor - or would it make more sense to put one piece of wood that is the correct size?
Also, I assume that I need to build the stud wall at the right distance so the tile board is flush against the blue watertight tape thing, so the tiles go over it... probably obvious, but I'm just learning this as I go along!
Obviously these 2 are only there to show the width!
Could the shelf be the thickness of the whole wall, and just have the wall 10cm thick, with just a plasterboard / tile board at the back?
