My 20 yo BG boiler Drayton RF thermostat only works at a setting of at least 26C and its overwarming the house!Can I fix it without replacing it?

Does it need batteries?
Can you clarify what you mean by "only works at a setting of at least 26C" For example; do you mean that the heating doesn't come on until the temperature is set to 26C? [Which would be correct if your house was already heated to 25C] or do you mean it can't be physically set to a temperature lower than 26C? or whatever setting it's on the house heats up to 26C, or something else?
