Afternoon all,

Hoping for a bit of advice after searching the web. We recently moved into a new property where we have bi-Fold doors (5 doors) fitted at the rear. The left hand, opening door can be difficult to close as it rubs against the lower seal when pulling it to.
I am trying to find a way of adjusting the door to raise it slightly. I am not sure of the brand of doors and anythng I have found online has a different hinge/ runner arrangement.

I have taken some pictures, could anyone take a stab at how to increase the Door height slightly?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Take a look on top of the door lock side, does it have a plate with a Allen key head screw in it ?

Hi Foxhole,
The opening door has the conventional slider mechanism on the edge with the bolts that locate into the frame channel to secure it.

There is nothing in the frame that matches your description or on the edge of the door. Please see pics

Looks like a Smart aluminum door.
Are you saying the handle side of the travel door is rubbing at the bottom? If so that door sash will need "toe and heel packing"

Hi Gazman, perfect thanks. That is a help in itself. The door is coming into contact with the rubber seal so needs adjustment.

The other issue, just started, is that the door mechanism isn’t releasing at the bottom straightaway. Needs the handle raising, locking unlocking and then pushing the handle down quickly to open the door properly.

I think this is the sliding mech that needs adjustment. Are there any guides on that so I can do it myself?

I can get someone out to toe and heel the door now I know the brand :)

If its the travel door that is having that new issue the toe & healing should sort that too. If its the other doors they may need the same toe& heel adjustment.
I fit quite a few Smart's. Good doors but the glass does often need repacking a few month/year after fitting as all the weight settles.
Will the fitters not come back and do it under guarantee or was it fitted by builders?

Unfortunately I have no information as to the door brand, when they were fitted or who by. The fact you pointed me to Smart is a big help. Thank you.

Hopefully one of their installers can help, I don’t suppose you cover the Northwest? :)

If you would like to just pop the doors down to me in the southwest I can sort it no problem :p
Hinges, Rollers and gaskets defiantly look like Smart's
