Hi all,

I had a similar issue a while ago when I had air trapped in my line due to being run off gas bottles, but this is the same issue, but different cause, and the steps I took last time no longer work.

I went for a shower the other day and noticed the water was still cold, so I went to the boiler, noticed it hadn't ignited so I pressed the red button, which caused it to ignite. Cut to yesterday, same issue, I go to the boiler, press the button and this time it doesn't ignite, it sparks, but doesn't ignite.

After a few tries, the diagnostic lights on the front switch from flashing green left light only to

L M R
FG R FG

Any hints or tips?

both green lights flashing at the same time and middle light permanently lit ,means lack of burner ignition. is the lock out signal lamp also lit ( next to the re set button ) ??

Yeah that's also lit, I've reset it a few times. Turned the boiler off at the mains, left it for 15 minutes, tried again, still no luck.

and after pressing the lock out re set ,does the boiler go thru its ignition cycle to the point where you can see sparks generated thru the sight glass.? or is there no sparking ?

Yeah everytime I press it, it goes through the cycle once more and it does spark, just doesn't ignite.

then there is a problem on the gas side ,and the forum does not allow advice to be given on gas. you will need a GSR engineer to diagnose / repair . what i can tell you is it is not something you can do yourself .sorry Don ,I know it's not really what you want to hear.

Nah it's no issue, was just hoping it was as something as simple as last time (pressing reset repeatedly as I run off 47kg Calor bottles and air had become trapped in the lines), if not, I'll get someone in.

Oh, I did notice, if relevant, that the pressure had dropped to 0. I've topped it back up to 1.5ish, made sure the radiators where bled and the issue arose when I noticed the pressure had fell.

not necessarily , will update 2morro as I've got to go to bed

the boiler should not ignite if water pressure is much less than 1 bar ,shouldn't even go thru the ignition cycle . AGAS is now gonna keep us in suspense before he gives us the benefit of his ,not inconsiderable ,knowledge . the little tease :). by the way don ,lack of gas ,air in pipes ,will cause the symptons ,so will failure of electronics to open gas valve.

Haha yeah, I'm so technically inept it's unbelievable, anyone who works with boilers, I tip my hat to all of you. I've almost punched it 15 times today and it only has like 5 buttons haha

I have left it for a few days and the pressure has dropped from 1.6ish to about 1. I've checked for leaks and I can't seem to find any :/
