Big holes in my garden lawn...WTF are they?

Having looked at those holes again, if they have interconnecting tunnels it would be mice or voles.
 
Where I live we get short-tailed voles that make holes like that, the cats loved chasing them, occasionally bringing them in.
 
Has someone who is rather fat been sat on a big legged chair in the garden?
