Big rubber ring fell out the washing machine!

Hi all,

Hotpoint Aquarius WDF740 washer dryer about 2 years old.

Not often I venture here, anyway, my missus was taking the washing out of the machine when along with the washing this rubber ring came out:

(the fork is there for scale btw) Its not something we recognise so assume it came from within!

Any suggestions? Thanks as always.

edit: for clarity this like a really thick elastic band (about 6x3 ins section) and about 225 dia.

That has nothing to do with the mc at all. It's got tangled up with the washing.
