Big window cold shower experiences

Our bathroom is setup so the bath is under a very large window.

We have an electric shower set up so you can stand in the bath and have a shower that gets pretty cold and I wonder if there's something that could be done.

My thoughts are along the lines of:

• Reducing the size of the window so the window is not right next to people when in shower (am assuming this will help but perhaps not).
• The window needs replacing perhaps we should we go for triple glazed unit or some other option that would help?

Any ideas?

Insulate the wall and double glaze the window, reduce its size if natural daylight will not be significantly reduced.

Check the electric shower is compliant with regulations re safety.

Bigger radiator has to be a cheapest first option before resizing windows

Resizing a window, may just mean blocking up half of it with celotex! - I've definitely seen that done

...and it's a reversible job, should they change their minds.

Maybe the OP means that, but normally it would mean ordering a new window, bricking up the exterior gap and plastering/tiling the interior.

Either way, if the OP is cold, then trying to heat the room better (or at least considering if there is heating) would be the first port of call.

...or enclosing the space around the shower better (just as an example!):



The shower would be lovely and warm, getting out may be the problem!

Be cheaper to fit a 2kw fan heater to use whilst in the shower. That will raise the room temperature a few degrees in a few minutes. Once finished turn off.
