black floor wanted - please help

I have got floorboards in my bedroom and want them black
what is the best product to use please

i have seen industrial floor paint but am a bit nervous!!!!!

You could try a black wood stain, ebony or similar, most makes do them.

Scary to do such a permanent change

Can you not get some cheap laminate first and paint over these?

i remember being told the best way to achieve this years ago, paint the floorboards with black emulsion then protect with several layers of polyurethane varnish

We were so poor we couldn`t afford lino - Dad used to make a swirly pattern on the floor with paint remnants from work - then cover with varnish we used to nick from the fishermen`s huts while on holiday in Hastings ( used to have to jump the train )
