The sun is shinning in every morning and waking me up, so I got a so called "black out blind" installed.

As you can see, as the installer informed me, there is always a strip at the top of the roller which allows light to come in.

Anyone know of a way to eliminate this?

Obviously, as the blind is pulled down, its rolling diameter reduces, increasing the light space.
Maybe you could attach a strip of timber, pelmet style, in front of the blind top? It wouldn't stop all light, but should help.

A length of draught excluder, the brush type, along the length of the blind. Fixed while the blind is closed so that it touches the roll.
Either in front or behind the blind.

"The sun is shinning in every morning and waking me up"

that is the idea
:)

Blinds fitted in wrong place for total blackout, would have been simpler to line the curtains with blackout lining.
