i recently bought a ice blender from the states, i did not realise it was only 120v and plugged it into mains, it blew, the motors seem to be turning ok and dont appear damaged
any solutions please

Confused...it blew...but the motors turn. Do you mean it turns by hand.
Anyway unless you use a transformer, you wont be able to use 120v on a uk supply.

yes motors turn by hand, i have used a tranformer after i usd the 240v, but nothing happens

Most appliances have a PCB of some sort in them, the motor may have survived a short burst of 240V but I doubt the PCB would.

Always assuming it has a pcb and not a direct feed through a switch to the motor.

yes there is a pcb, it was a short burst, there does not seem to be much on the pcb, only switches, no ics or anything
