no, you must be looking at the calendar, not the price?

2 reasons mainly. Brown's fuel taxes keep going up, and the value of the pound versus the dollar (as well as most other currencies) keeps going down. Oil is bought in dollars.

To quote Brown before New Labour were elected ''A weak pound is the sign of a weak government''.

Time for another fuel strike? The lorry drivers organisations are strangely quiet this time.

Oil is traded in dollars, and its a win/win for the americans.

The price of fuel goes up, people need more dollars to buy it, dollar rises, America wins.

Price of fuel falls, americans get more fuel per dollar. America wins.

The Iraq war was because Saddam was going to start trading oil in Euros, and that woudl have severely ballsed up the americans, they would have had to start buying euros to get oil. And they wernt about to start doing that, not when all they need to do at he moment is print more dollars for more oil.

There wont be another one. After the last one Labour gave itself draconian powers to suppress and destroy any similar protests, including bringing in the army to run the deliveries and run the refineries, the ability to detain anyone they think is going to a fuel protests, and they made it possible to declare zones where it will be illegal to protest, and they rights to close roads and turn back cars. Not to mention they can use the Terrorism Act as a pretence to arrest and hold you for a month.

Welcome to Nu Labours Fascist Police State.

Lincs - you like a good conspiracy yarn. How about that extra wide bike lane you posted elsewhere being a hint of how it's going to be in the future - most people on bikes with just the occasional little rich boys (and fatcat socialists) needing the roads for cars ;)

Do you notice? A "spokesperson" will announce that "the price of petrol is expected to rise to £??.00 in the near future" tthen within a week the price starts rising up to the price announced. Do these spokespersons have a crystal ball? or is the price allready decided and the announcement is just to ease the blow? Do they really think we are stupid?

no, some idiot predict it will rise so the fuel companies use that as an excuse to raise it.. after all we all expect it to once we're told it will be..

we can no longer blockade refineries etc as said they outlawed it, but we can set up rolling roadblocks in key areas to slow down the deliveries etc.. there's a facebook page organising such a protest for this weekend i heard mentioned on the local radio..

In that case the oil companies will simply sell what we've ordered to another country. Very clever eh?

Should be a law banning those tanker from anchoring offshore all these weeks hoping prices will rise.
