Blue tooth to laptop problem

I have a bluetooth enable fone. I can send a music file from laptop to phone, but cant see the laptop to send a file from the phone.
Blue tooth is on on both devices.
Any ideas?

i know on my phone i actually have to make it discoverable to the lappy.

Just cant understand what is going on.
I can see all the files etc on my phone via bluetooth connection from fone to laptop, but cannot send a file from fone to laptop, as the phone does not see the laptop.

Does the laptop need any software installed to fully communicate from phone to laptop perhaps?

Just thinking about my Blackberry and older Nokia which both seemed to need software installed.

Just a thought.

Which phone do you have? I have Samsung galaxy and use kies air. It uses the home network rather than Bluetooth.

It did work ok anyway back in the UK now & have the lead & have done all I needed to.
