Hi just a quick query.

Im going to fit either 18mm plyboard or 18mm T&G chipboard to the joists in a loft to create a light storage area. The existing roof lay out is a truss style with 4x2 joists the house is aprox 5 years old

Im going to cross baton the joists with 4 x 2 cls as not to compress the insulation, create ventilation and to allow for pipes and cables.

I just want clarification that that the existing 4x2 joists will take the weight of the excess timber and items to be placed up there?

Don't see why not. Roof trusses are designed to take the weight of a house water tank use screws to fix things don't use hammer and nails I would properly use chipboard as easier to get a full sheet up the hatch than a sheet of ply
