I'm thinking of boarding part of our loft for a bit of extra storage.

Three things are bothering me, however...

1. The insulation doesn't meet current standards (although that does mean the house is relatively cool in hot weather, and that's a bonus for us).

2. The joists are only approximately 325mm wide. Will they be strong enough?

3. I can see daylight at the top of the brickwork at both sides of the house! Is this normal?

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Mike

1. I don't think adding insulation will magically make your house hot in the summer.
2. More than likely.
3.Yes.
