Hi first time poster, long time reader.
I am in the process of converting a old pub into my future house and I am stuck with the following:
I wish to board a area of the loft for storing light items it problem is the ceiling joists are all of differing sized and heights ( the joists are made from tree trunks that are cut into quarters so have 2 cut faces one horizontal and and the rest still that the laths are attached to and one vertical the rest is covered with bark)
Would it be an idea to build a frame to place the loft boards on then pack the different size gaps between the tops of ceiling joists and the frame to spread the weight and give a flat floor area?
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks
