Hello all.

First off, I know nothing about boilers etc… so hope this makes sense…

I have purchased a new house and there is a lot of work going on at the moment. The Gas has been capped, and combi boiler system drained.

I was looking at my wireless thermostat and nothing is displayed on screen, also changed batteries and still nothing. The transmitter box also has no lights on it.

Could this be because the boiler is not fired up?

If it is broken, is there a cheap solution for the time being to control heating system.

I think the boiler make is “Ideal”

New, or new to you? If brand new get the builders back. Don't mess with it as you may affect warranty.
Pics would help. System needs to be filled and powered up correctly for everything to work
The receiver is powered off the mains normally.
