Boiler flue extractor

Another photo so you can see where the window is above too. Is there a way to fit an extension kit to this?

If you mean a plume management kit then it shouldn't be used to circumvent the required distance to the vent, unless the MI's say different Better sealing it up.

Would the minimum distance still apply as they are exiting the wall adjacent to each other? Extractors that don’t vent externally are pretty much useless so I’d really prefer it if there was a way round it.

And by blocking it up, does a cap count as a temporary measure until I can brick it up properly? (Assuming I can find a cap/blanking plate that fits)

And just to add, even if I block it up won’t it still be too close to the internal corner so I’ll need to divert it away? It’s really not an option to move the boiler completely

As mentioned, if you aren't getting any products of combustion entering the house then it is wrong, but what used to be called " not to current standards". Adding a plume management kit won't change that so you could just leave it alone.

Sorry, I misunderstood that bit. Sounds like he should have given me some paperwork and just made a note about the flue then surely?

O.P. your installation is no less safe today than it was when newly installed.

No service engineer has found otherwise when carrying out the mandatory safety checks that are a part of every service.

All agree that it is "Not to Current Standards"

Details of NCS here https://registeredgasengineer.co.uk/not-to-current-standards/

Your last guy got a bit bum-twitchy, that's all. There is still confusion among some gas guys which the article attempts to address.

It’s not under warranty. I think it was 8 or 10 years and it was fitted 13 (I think) years ago.
I may get someone else out to have a look as I do need the paperwork for the insurance so will hope someone else can just make the note about the flue but give a receipt and that should be it.
I’m sure it’s fine after all this time!

Why short notice?

Can you not get the engineer who previously gave you paperwork to come back and do it again?

That would seem the path of least resistance!

Is it for warranty? Insurance?

Edit: just seen it's for insurance - as @HERTS P&D is it a rental?
