It is a potterton flamingo rs40. Originally it would have had a badge on the bottom tray. These Flamingos came out in about 81 till about 89 so boiler is a fair age

Heat exchanger buggered. Had an engineer around from original company, new boiler (condensing), jet flush and inhibitor £2,000 + vat BUT could be another £400 if the hot water cylinder goes when he jet flushes. Asked me some good questions, how long was I planning to own the house (10 yrs) Suggested a Valiance boiler (100,000 btu), that will last longer but is more expensive. I think this sounds reasonable. I have 11 rads of which 2 are long doubles.
