We moved into our house just over a month ago and have had no problems with the boiler (is not a combi) which is housed in the loft for some reason.

That is until yesterday.

We had a shower and afterwards I noticed it was making a lot of noise. Didnt think too much of it, but then later in the day I noticed it again and it got worse - at one point it was making a noise similar to an old fashioned kettle boiling.

The noise level falls and rises but seems to always come back now and the only way to shut it up is to turn the ch down/off.

Have had a look at it - pressure seems normal and I can't see anything different so am bemused.

Any ideas?

Its a Potterton Boiler.

could be your pump impellor has come adrift first the niose and now kettling.......

Could be kettling, could be the fan bearings, or pump bearings.

Get a corgi in to check over before it breaks down over xmas
