I have a problem with my boiler stopping and requires a reset when the system is pumping on on just the CH circuit. When pumping DHW or both CH and DHW it seems to work ok.
What could be the possible sources of this problem?
The system is a Y-plan, open vented with storage cylinder and cold water and F/E cistern on the loft. I've bled the rads, pump and pipes but there is no air coming out and the heating works fine except stopping after a short while once hot. Although it sounds like something is moving around the system occasionally, mostly when the boiler is firing.
No TRV's fitted anywhere, but before I opened up all rad lockshields to max the system would make banging/popping noises before the boiler needed a reset.
