need a bit of help. my boiler has been making strange noises. the strange thing is that, it works fine and not noisy most of the time.
however it makes this intermitttent noise as if trying to draw water into the boiler. this noise comes directly from the boiler cupboard.
the water cylinder is fine and not noisy(in a separate cupboard).
this noise sounds like either the boiler is trying to draw water into it or pushing water out of it. the noise stops after a while and the boiler works fine and quite for some time.
can anyone please give me some info as to what might be happening.
the boiler is a glow worm economy 50.
thanks

Its diffcult for me to guess without hearing the noise myself.

You could check there is water in th F&E tank and if thats normal 100-150mm depth.

If so see FAQ to check to see if air is being sucked in from the vent.
