Sorry another one of those \\\'Boiler Not Firing Up\\\' posts.

I came home from work tonight and the warmest place in my house is my fridge!

My boiler in the garage looks quite old (in when we moved in a couple of years ago). It says on the outside ‘Ideal Standard’ I cant find a model or anything and the pilot light is on.

This boiler supplies pumped water to the rads and also heats the water in the cylinder.

I recently replaced my room thermostat, water pump, cylinder thermostat, timer and everything simply plugged into a circuit box.

The system worked fine until today/tonight. The wall thermostat ‘clicks’ (at 10 degrees!) but the boiler just flickers and fails to fire. I can hear the pump pumping away pushing cold water around the system.

Brrrrr

have you checked the motorised valve is working ok? it sound more like a control fault than the boiler. you could put a temp electrical supply to the boiler to see if it fires.

oooops....its gas!!!!
